What is up with people?
So I am playing the NL 50 - 100 blind play money tables a UB, ( the CFO has forbidden online play for cash until I win enough at home games to fund) and playing fairly well. Bought in for 50K and have built my stack to 225K. I am on the button with 23 off. The table calls the BB to me, so the pot odds are good so I call. The SB raises the size of the pot, gets 3 callers, all with healthy stacks, so I call. Flop is 2 4 6, rainbow. So now I have a gutshot straight draw, and bottom pair. The SB small blind moves in half of his stack, about 40K, Others fold. I put him on big pair, jacks or better. I decide to call because I have 10 outs, the other 2's 3's and 5's. 4th street comes 3 offsuit, so no flush possibility. SB moves in. I call. River comes 8. SB shows AA and loses to my 23 off. Then the fun begins. I have to sit and read all of the chat about how I only called because I had the big stack, I was stupid, No brains, on and on and on. Now that you have read this book what is your opinion of the play of this hand?

well it was a bad call... and you got lucky... but hey you are only crazy if you are poor... if you are rich its called being eccentric...
23o is a hand that you really should never play... but hey you got lucky... dont make it a habit, but then again ive never been that much ahead of the rest of my table... and when i am ahead i am still a pretty conservative player...

This is money so...if you absolutely 100% make the right move it is not guaranteed they will lay down the hand. And even if they DO, lay down the hand it's play money so you can easily piss it away in 10 seconds. I suppose the best move for the guy would be to move all-in preflop to take the blinds or make it look like an overbet or do the exact same on the flop to destroy any pot odds. He couldn't have put anyone seriously on 23o, and probably should have gone all-in on the flop. Would you have called then?

NO CHANCE. I only called because the pot odds were right, and there was a chance to wreck him on the cheap. if he comes back with a huge raise, i'm gone, as i should be. as it turns out, he was waiting for us to catch up, and i did.
