What's correct? (playing order)

Postby goforgold99 » Sun Sep 17, 2006 2:19 pm GMT

Hi,

I recently played Hold'em for the first time with some friends and there appeared some uncertainties and questions about the playing order:

When there are let's say 6 Players still at the table, then the player left of the Big Blind is first to act before the flop and the BB himself is the last.
- Now if the player at the Big Blind checks, then the Flop comes. But if he raises and everybody calls, then the Big Blind does not act again and the Flop comes when the Small Blind has called, right ??
- If the SB raises again (when the BB has raised already) and everybody calls, then the player before the SB, the button, is the last one who calls and then the Flop comes ?? Or can the SB act again?
- Then when we are at the Flop, the SB is always the one who is first to act ??

- Now in Heas-Up Situation the Button puts in the SB and the other player the BB. The SB is the first to act before the Flop.
Is he also the first to act at the Flop or is the BB first then?
Or does it depend on who called last before the Flop?

preflop person to the left of the BB acts first

postflop person to the left of the dealer (or dealer button) acts first

this is how it ALWAYS works, im guessing theres confusion because you are used to draw poker, where it matters who made the last bet or raise

in blind poker (as opposed to ante or draw poker) the person to the LEFT of the dealer ALWAYS acts first after the flop

when it is heads up ...

preflop: the dealer is the SB and acts first preflop, other play is BB and acts second preflop

postflop: the BB acts first

easy way to remember this: dealer button is the best position in poker, and therefore will always act last postflop

Yes, correct.

Yes. Correct

. No

yes

correct

No, the player to the left of the "button" acts first (as per usual). Playing heads up this obviously means it's the non-button who acts first after the flop. Essentually, when playing heads up, the button acts first pre-flop but then last after the flop.

Hope this helps. Welcome aboard!
