what to do vs soft playing?
The last live MTT I went to (€60 +/- 50 players) I had 3 players in my table sitting next to each other who were friends. When they were in a pot alone they will check it down, openly letting everyone know they play together (in one hand dude in position checked behind FH)
This is a very amateurish MTT with the organizers more interested in the side cash games then the even itself.
He would announce a blind change up to 5min after they changed and no one will control if the tables actually changed the blinds....
1st, how bad is it for the rest of the player if 3 players soft play?
2. How should one combat it? Am planning to talk with the organizer next time and see if he can/want to do anything about it.
Am planning to play this event every two weeks as it plays pretty soft and its the only game I can find.

If it’s amateur hour it’s best avoiding the tourney, unless like you said you have a good edge in the game that makes it worth it. Personally this kind of half a*red organisation gets on my t*ts.
Anyway back to the main point. If they’re playing soft all I can think of is to play aggressive when it’s just you and them in the pot, as ninetensuited said.
My theory is that they’ll fold hands they might have normally played against a pot of strangers just because they don’t want to get in a battle that will end up taking chips of their friends.
I guess it depends how they play. You don’t want to get them all calling down and giving each other odds because they’re thinking [i]“well as long as one of us takes this pot I’m happyâ€
