Postby kingetje » Thu Mar 01, 2007 7:05 pm GMT

in the latest HSP when he folded his top pair with top kicker (AJ on a J-6-3 board, two diamonds) against Sammy of all people!

who else was complertely surprised? what did he have to put sammy on to fold? J-6? J-3? a set?

I think the important point with the flop was that it was 2 suited, with farha's large bet he had to be putting him on a flush draw. So with tptk he couldn't just call.

His decision had to be, "do I push all in and let this gambler on tilt suck out on me for $100K? or do i fold?"

I think he decided that some pots just werent playing.

Was that before his 10 10 set that felted Harmon or after? I bet it was before and he would have pushed if he was sitting on $140k profit vs Sammy usually playing w/ $30k-80k.

I was more shocked by Paul W laying down AA without even thinking about it w/ a 10 high flop.

This hand was last weeks show Dave, after Sammy had rebought so he was sitting with ~$100k and Lindgren would have had about same.

Wasicka's laydown with AA on the flop was HUGE. Very controlled play. With 7 to the flop and Brunson betting out then 5 players to act after him... I dunno if I coulda mucked like that, I'd prob have stuck in a raise to see where I was at there.

I uh, highly doubt that Lindgren's thought process was "I've got the best hand, in a cash game, but I'm just gonna fold so he doesn't suck out on me."

I was about 50/50 on whether Webby meant what he literally said or whether I should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's making some third level metagame discussion here.

See, I know how to bite my tongue!

Also.. lindgren gave his thought process on the hand. He thought sammy played it "weird" and folded.. I don't see any reason why he'd be lying. I've thought this many, many times, and I imagine making these kinds of decisions against someone that is both:

A) Losing
B) A phenomenal player capable of making himself look like he's steaming worse than he is....

gets to be kind of hard.
