Whats Mineral Oil??

Postby ALEN-TNT » Tue Mar 22, 2005 8:20 am GMT

Hey, what is mineral oil. I saw the Nevada Jack Clay poker chips review and the mineral oil made them look great. My question is where can you buy mineral oil? What type of brand of mineral oil is good.

Its a light colorless oil usually used for dry skin. (baby oil). I have never oiled chips as I am waiting for mine to be shipped yet, but if it was me I would stay away from the baby oil as it has a fragrance to it. You should be able to get plain fragrance free 100% pure mineral oil in any drugstore or Walmart, Target etc.

Agree with Wiley here...

Use mineral oil, not baby oil. It can be found in the health and beauty aids
section of most stores. I bought 16oz for $1.99 at my grocery store.
This amount will last forever.

Take care to use oil sparingly. too much just makes it a mess to wipe them all clean

The pillow shaking trick just acts to wear the chip edges down...it doesn't help their appearance.

So dont allow my baby to suck on my oiled Paulsons?

p.s. DONT FREAK OUT: I was joking, I'd never allow that. She'd get slobber all over my chips.

Crazy! I thought my 3-year old was probably the only kid that did this! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. He uses them to practice his counting, too :P

Oh yes, mine are already turning into little chip snobs. Their favorite is the pink Nevada Jack skull and they know better than to take that one in the bathtub!
