Whats the best way to play omaha hi/lo limit?

just super aggressive? or super tight i wanna hear from experienced players. i plan on playing some 2/4 3/6 or 5/10

If you are playing at a full table, you need to have the nuts or be drawing at the nuts. Super aggressive will get you no where - Guys will always find a reason to play the 4 cards they are dealt - You need to capitalize on that by being more selective.

Play premuim omaha hands and try to scoop. It is a game about scooping pots, not splitting them.

I have no idea how to play FL omaha hi/lo.

But I am pretty decent at PL. The key to PL hi/lo is to be a nut peddler and steal hands that have no lo potential. If someone bets out, unless you hvae the nuts or a draw to the nuts you're out of the hand. Position is key in hi/lo, even moreso that in holdem I'd say. If nobody bets out and you're last to act... 90% of the time you should be looking to steal if there is only 1 low card out. This really is hugely important imo. I pretty much always limp in late position with any cards, mostly because many people play so passively unless they have a monster hand.

The reason I say only try and steal if theres 1 low card out, is that a low draw is much too enticing to people and they'll generally call you, which is not what you want. Occasionally people will slow play things like top set and you dont want to have to guess if they're on a low draw or slow playing a huge hi hand.

So two things to remeber. Only call bets with the nuts or draw to the nuts, and try to steal most of the pots that people arent interested in.

Oh, and don't slow play, like ever. Its not worth it.

The best way to play is read a book and start off at small stakes and learn the game and post hand histories to be commented on.

I wouldn't say there was only one way to play a game like this, for example I noticed a lot of people saying only play hands that can scoop. While that is true to some extent and that is what most omaha books tell you, I feel that you miss out on a lot of value when you muck the one way hands that don't have a chance to scoop, or only "draw to the nuts" with your A2JT or something.

I would say at first you should probably stick to the scoop hands and what not, but when you move up a few levels, you are going to realise how predictable a player you are and hopefully you will realise how much value you lose by not playing hands such as A35x and the like. I skimmed your article diamond and it seemed very good, well done.

Through playing some horse sngs, I've come to the conclusion that I am TERRIBLE at flat limit omaha hi/lo.....It is easily my weakest of the 5 games played...

Does anyone have a good book to recommend? I might be willing to invest 20-30 bucks to buy one.

Also, I'm a huge pow in limit games.... Half the time I know I'm beat I call down anyway. Thats prolly the biggest hole in my game. Any of you guys have this problem as well?

If you are pretty sure you are beat then it should depend on the odds you are getting. Sometimes the odds are just too big to throw the pots away.

As I said, the Omaha book I recommend is probably the best on the market that I have looked into.
