Mine is either underestimating my opponents.
OR
Hating to fold to an opponent I think is bluffing

Making assumptions that i am better than this level and therefore everyone else is beatable. I then end up calling hands that I should of never of played in the first place on the assumption the other guy is a donk, so my hand must be better than his!

Following advice that I know in my gut is not correct for me and my game just because the person giving it may be more experienced in poker. Problem when you do that is no one knows your own game the way you do and when it comes down to it, you need to follow your own instincts and not someone else's.

Good thread , wp. I would say my biggest weaknesses are getting complacent after i have sustained winning sessions and also letting them stupid poker vids twats teachings creep into my subconcious when my intent on watchin them is merely to understand how others view the game.

Letting small things and little beats get to me so I go off for a huge number, set myself back a week in progress, and get so dejected that I lose a week, month, or longer to a "break" that I probably could have been improving my game and making money. I'm at least a year behind the curve now.

OMG. I can sooooooooo relate to this - not just with poker, but other areas of my life as well.xDiamond_CutteRx wrote:Letting small things and little beats get to me so I go off for a huge number, set myself back a week in progress, and get so dejected that I lose a week, month, or longer to a "break" that I probably could have been improving my game and making money. Your resolution is absolutely correct though - Instead of analysing the situation time and time again, I need to move onwards and upwards.
Nice reply

Yeah well... it partly explains why I haven't been around as much lately.
That, and I've been looking for a job, and if I started winning, it would be too easy to be tempted to play full time again (at which point I usually burn out within 4-6 months), and if I started losing, I'd be in too bad of financial shape.

Re: Whats your biggest weakness in poker.
well my biggest weakness(and probably the same for majority of players) is not playing in a way that i would like; doing things that on reflection AND at the time are just plain bad but doing them anyway. I guess its a form of tilt but it doesn't always come from bad beats or unluckyness, sometimes i just think "fk it" and then do some monkey style plays. When i cut these out , which i have been successfull at doing for up to months at a time, i have much better results. But when they creep in and i reflect on these plays its sooo disheartening and really beat myself up for doing such ridiculous things when i know as im doing it that its retarded... anyway i guess just have to accept that i will have days where i play like a numpty

Re: Whats your biggest weakness in poker.
Every time I run well, it seams so easy, the cards play themselves, knowing what to do is second nature, I am fearless, hitting hands, getting the odds to call, I have the table at my mercy.
This is what brings me back looking for that poker high, the bullet-proof feeling of being the best.
Then on another day nothing goes right, always out of position, never getting the odds to call, never hitting a hand, I find myself forcing the action, looking to play when its just not happening, but I’m there to play and play I will, we all have bad days supposably, cant win all the time.
That’s it, I only win enough on the good days to cover the losses on the bad days.
