When you are first to enter the pot....
Do You?
A)always raise
B)mostly raise but limp once in a while to mix it up
C)base limping vs. raising on your hand
D)usually limp
How does the blind levels, stack sizes, position, hand strength, reads on other players, etc. affect the amount of your raise?

B. Almost always raise in a tournament if I'm first to enter the pot. Occasionally I'll open limp with something like a small PP, but only on the right table... I can add limping with AA/KK to this mix to avoid automatically being labeled as weak for limping, but if people frequently raise behind me, I'll frequently dump all my weak hands OOP.

E) It depends.

A very great deal.
I’m not even going to drop in a pearl of wisdom because as soon as I finish the sentence I’d have to start adding [i]“except whenâ€

I have a bookcase full of them. Just making use of the forum for more info.
I watch as much as I can on TV, read the mag's, watch stuff on youtube, etc. Really am trying to be a student of the game.

It's entirely dependent on the table, my stack and the stacks of those to act behind me.
If I have a decent pile of chips in front of me and my opponents are a) on the weak-tight side and b) not so short that they have to push with the first ace-or-face they see, then I'll raise with just about any two and I'll do it just about every time I'm given the opportunity. If they start to play back, I reduce the frequency. If they get really, really short, I quit doing it entirely.
For the most part, my cards don't even matter, although I'd like to have at least a suited connector like [8d][3d].

I'd actually prefer [7d][3d] that way I at least have a shot at flopping the straight flush when they call.

I agree that poker is something you need to work at, pretty much eternally
