Who makes Nevada Jacks Composite chips?

Postby ashVID » Sat Mar 20, 2004 9:51 am GMT

Anyone know? I think their clay chips were made by pokerchips.com but I like the feel of their composite chips, just not the design. They are not Chipco but something similar...

I too am wondering who makes their composite casino poker chips. They kind of look like Chipco chips. Does anyone have a sample of these chips and could comment on them?

I am talking about these chips -

That sure looks like a chipco chip...why don't you just ask them? They're a pretty straight up outfit....they'd probably tell you.

I sent him an E-Mail asking if these chips were made by Chipco and if not, who makes them? His response was "i manufacture those myself"

He could just be lying because he doesnt want you to cut him out and go to the manufacturer yourself. Hes gotta make a buck too.

It was a while back, a couple months for sure, that I was on the Nevada Jack website. I think I do remember reading that they do actually manufacture chips. They didn't look like that, but could be he's upgraded his facility.

There's gold in them thar' chips.

Yes , a friend of mine knows the owner of Nevada Jacks and he definitely manufactures them himself. They are a really nice chip but a little expensive.

From the picutres, they seem to be comparable to Crystal Oyster chips from Chipco at a slightly better price. Chipcos are $.70 each plus shipping. Nevadajacks are $299.99 for a 500 chip set including a case plus shipping. This works out to be $.60 a chip (without shipping). Has anyone compared these chips?

I got a few sample Crystal Oyster chips the other day. I must say that im not impressed with them. I dont like that style of chip. I prefer a claylike chip and I cant stand how the edge spots dont line up.

Chipco does not make the NJ chips. I was unimpressed with my initial Chipco Crystal Oyster sample (which came from Dice702) but after searching long and hard came back around after Chipco sent me some samples that they sent me. After getting my set, I would not want to play with anything else. GREAT feel, GREAT look, stack excellent, etc. IMHO the best chip for the money. REAL clay chips like Paulson are great but they sell for 50% more than the Chipco chips. MANY Casinos and the WPT use Chipco so somebody must like them.

PS I LOVE the edgespots on the COC set, that is the thing I get the most comments on

I too got a sample of these chips from dice702 and also did not like the fact that the edge spots don't line up. Are the samples (and therefore the chips) from Chipco any better?

What do you mean by edge spots lining up? Each chip has different edges. Within a denomination they seem very consistent....

What I meant by edge spots don't line up is the top of the chip and the sides of the chip look misaligned. In the pictures below (taken from an ebay auction) there is an offset between the edge marks on the top of the chip and edge marks on the side of the chip. The chips would look much better if these were lined up. The chip I got as a sample is even worse than these. I was wondering if the chips from Chipco are better aligned.
