Who wins the purse ? Help

While playing our regular Friday game we had seven players and agreed their would be no third place winner, only first and second. During the final hand of three players my hand beat out the other two players. Do I claim the first and second place purse or does second go to the loser with more chips ?

Whichever of the other two started the hand with more chips wins 2nd place.

It doesn't matter which of them had the better hand because they've both lost to you.
