Who wins this hand

I was playing poker last nite and there was confusion on this hand

The five cards on the table were,ace,2,3,4 and 5
I was holding two kings and my friend was holding jack and a nine

Who wins ? my friend said it was a split pot as the best five cards were on
The table. I'm not so sure
