What is meant by wired pair in the online poker games?

In the online poker games as well as the RL poker games, a wired pair is a pair using your first two private cards. In holdem this is kind of silly since any pocket pair is a wired pair. In a game like seven card though, it makes a little more sense.
At least that's what I think it means. I'm mostly a holdem player and I never hear anyone say that anymore.

Wired pair doesn't make much sense in holdem, but Stud a wired pair is the pair you have in your first two hole cards, for example 887. TBH, I never even heard this term used to describe a pair, we usually say buried eights.
If you had 878 in stud you would say split eights.

I tend to call it 8s down. No idea why, maybe because I am a tard.
