I simply cannot stop playing that damn game. So I'll try to suck some of you guys in with me. :D

When I get a new videogame I might play a little. . . I've had bad experiences with games like this cause I just refuse to put the time in needed to advance.
I really want to try second life tho...and Spore if it ever turns out to be real...

I played Everquest, Dark age of camelot and now I play everquest II. I am considering playing Warcraft though. Im sick of Everquest charging for everything. They are way too money hungry.
I played WOW over at a friends house and it looked pretty good. If i get into it Carson you will have to help me out

Yeah I don't play those games anymore either. I had FFXI and I think I logged about 90 days of gametime. It was a bad thing. And once I got to the high levels people just pissed me off anyhow, so no more of that stuff.

Perhaps it's just reflective of my antisocial nature, but I only play games in single-player mode. As great as the "Command & Conquer" series is, every game in the series had one of those annoying unbeatable online strategies, e.g. the tank rush, the early APC full of engineers, etc.
I spend a lot of time on the Final Fantasy series every time a new one comes out, but the online, multiplayer only games never piqued my interest.

Wow, as always I'm late on the wagon.
End of last year they flooded Belgian TV with free WOW ad (basically, you get 10 days free) and it worked.
They finally found a way to sell a game that keeps giving them money.
Not so surprisingly, the last game I was into was the Diablo series.
I'll admit that I might be addicted, but thats ok, beside being a dad (thats come first) and playing 3-5 hours of poker a day I don't have much else going in my life right now.
I actually reduced my daily poker time just before starting wow, so its not actually hurting my "career" that much.

Well the subscription business model isn’t a new one for games but nothing before had the astronomical user volumes of WOW.
I’m a big fan of the Diablo series as well and I’m really looking forward to D3 which is coming soon.

"Soon" is a relative term, since Blizzard's priority is Starcraft 2, and only after that will they really be prepping D3 for release. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come out until late 2010 or later.

what a sick sick sick bump
fwiw, I've avoided WoW at all costs. Many of my coworkers play and they are all addicted like crack fiends.
I'm sure I'm missing out, but I really can't justify buying the game and the paying them on a monthly basis to play it.

I've played WoW on and off since its release. It's so addictive some companies now have hirering (sp?) resctrictions about it. Pretty much if they find out you play it at all they won't hire you.
but yeah... when I sign up for a month basically i end up sitting in front of my comp for 12 hrs a day ignoring everything and everything around me.
the day I quit playing is when I realized I actually said this frase, "will you two girls please stop moaning (they were behind me on the bed), I'm trying to play World of Warcraft."
I cancelled my subscription that day and haven't played again since.
