Tanks 'invade' tiny UK village!
15 Jan 2008
LONDON: The last thing residents of a tiny UK village expected to see was Army tanks in their streets. However, that's the sight they have been living with thanks to faulty satellite navigation.
The system has been sending soldiers looking for barracks at Donnington, near Telford, to a village of the same name in Shropshire that is 15 miles away.
Residents of the village say that at times there are as many as seven tanks lined up in the village lane. What's more, this is happening at least seven times a week.
"It's like an invasion. There have been cannons and some big weapons on the back of transporters," The Sun quoted farmer David Strefford, 60, as saying.
"Their mapping systems must be a right mess. You'd have thought the Army would have realised what's going on by now.
"There's only six houses down here so it doesn't even look anything like an army base. You start to think if a war broke out, how would our Army find its way around - it's a bit worrying."
A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said: "We are investigating this matter and hope to resolve the issue."

Damn if only I could find a news story where a North American does something stupid, but what are the odds I could track down such a rare find.

UAU is home on the computer, presumably staying out of trouble, so there's one less candidate for tabloid fodder.

Sean don't start nasty rumors. I am actually at work on the computer and as far as the trouble goes....well...I haven't made national headlines as of late. The last time was here

That's what I get though for trying to play online poker on the mainframe...

Push!
You know, I've always wondered how they find the dumbest, most ignorant people when they have a television interview here. If Atlanta airport were to shut down for a day, they'd somehow find 400 redneck hillbillies to interview about it when 99% of them wouldn't even know what an airplane was, much less have any stake in the shutdown. I can't even watch the news anymore. It actually embarrasses me.

Wenchy good to see ya girlie. It's that red light on top of the camera. It's a magnetic beacon to stupid and dumb people. Watch the news next time a tornado goes through your area. You'll see what I mean. That little red light draws them in like moths to a flame....

We also "accidentally" hit the French Embassy in Libya in 1986. I doubt it had anything to do with their refusal to let us use their airspace.

I’d be interested to know how many Darwin awards occurred in the home.

Well informed, coherently explained opinion doesn’t make good TV. That sh*t ends up on the editing room floor (well it did pre-digital age), on the Fox network anyway.

Meh the US are always bombing someone. The UN changed the sanctions to a $50 fine to save the paper work
