Roberts Rules of Poker

Originally authored by Robert Ciaffone

The rules on how to play Texas Holdem Poker are simple and covered in the Texas Holdem Basics section but there are other rules to consider when hosting a home poker game or when an unusual situation such as a split pot or dead blind arises. Below is a link to an excellent set of general poker rules written by Robert Ciaffone which covers almost every possible rules issue that can arise in not only texas holdem, but any poker game. It is well worth taking the time to read up on the rules if you are a new player or even check on those trickier areas if you are an established player - especially if you plan to hold your own home poker game and may be called upon to adjudicate.

Bob Ciaffone has been involved with refining poker rules since his work with the Poker Players Association. He has worked with numerous casinos and cardrooms and is a writer for Cardplayer magazine. His work, "Roberts Rules of Poker", is considered by many to be the definitive source, the final say, on the matter of poker rules.
